Ennui Breathes Malice - Of Agony & Ecstasy (2008)

Imagine a deathcore band with lots of melody, an awesome vocalist (it has pig squeals too, but not all the time) and great humor (read the song titles). If you wanna listen to something like that, click to download.

Darkane - Demonic Art (2008)

So when this album was offered to me the description was "now that soilwork is dead, Darkane can take the throne!". This isn't soilwork though, most consider them in the "NWOSDM" (new wave of swedish death metal, fuck yeah acronyms)... however on this album they've learned more towards a thrash sound, perhaps a tad more similar to 'The Haunted'.
Vocal stylings are fast yelling. Less melodic than Soilwork, but hey maybe that's a plus for you. Instrumentation wise Darkane (on this album at least) seems dedicated to the chuggity chugga thunka thunk beat the shit outta out instruments stuff. That's the most professional explanation you will ever hear from me.

PS: did i mention this has voice overs? Yeeeeeeeeah.. about that.
I'll find a clean version ASAP.

Update: Here's a 320 kbps CD rip, enjoy.

Hellchild - Circulating Contradiction (1999)

First off, how many of you were actually born before 1992? Fine. Next, for the new guys posting on this god-forsaken blog. Write more, have some pride in what you post for fucks sake, don't just "genre, label, whine, dump". Give me a reason to give a shit.
You daft metal 'fa(ggots)ns' don't download shit because you see a name that sounds tempting and because its posted here (okay fine, you do cuz you trust us assholes to only let you care about awesomeness). We SELL it.
So, hellchild, the only way about 3/4 of you will recall them is cuz you have the split they did with converge. Let's look outside that, Hellchild, they bring the "oomph" that you do not commonly throw in when you think hardcore. They have the balls, the growl, the 'i don't care if you don't give a fuck, we're doing this cuz we can' mentality that makes music of this declaration great. If this isn't your cup of tea, fine. You took the maybe 11 minutes to snag this and you took the three to attempt to listen. Congrats.
id_ who may be a lil drunk, out.

oh, and this:

Hellchild are Japan's maestros of heavy core. Growling death metal vocals, guitars that spurt anvil heavy riffs, and rhythms that march you to hell are Hellchild's calling card. Although the individual elements that make up this din are commonplace, the way in which Hellchild have combined them is very unique. They are too fast to be just sludge, to slow and heavy to be just hardcore, and to groovin' to be just metal. Instead they are some hybrid that is greater than the sum of its parts. One thing is sure, if you're looking for originality, Hellchild is the one you need. The subtile balance between aggressivity and melody gives Hellchild an unique personality.

I Declare War - Amidst the Bloodshed (2007)

This band is one of my all times favourites. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get their other full-length CD, so if you're the owner of it and would like to share it, please contact me or just write a comment and it would be highly appreciated. Anyway, this is a deathcore band from the USA and you can easily get very addicted to it. I heard this album 6 hours in a row when I got it, and has not yet been tired of it. They got breakdowns which can shatter everything, amazing riffs and the growls are just insane. Nothing can describe this, so I suggest you just down it and give it your own opinion. Enjoy.

Jacknife - A Plague of People (2008)

Guys, check this awesome album out. They're playing catchy thrash/groove. However, they're not too popular, so i hope a lot of people will download and listen to it as much as they can.

Ancient Necropsy - Apocalyptic Empire (2007)

One of the best slam death albums i've ever heard.

Altar - In The Name of The Father (1999)

Very good old school death from the Netherlands.

We Butter The Bread With Butter - Das Monster aus dem Schrank (2008)

It's deathcore, with electronic elements. Don't expect something like wecamewithbrokenteeth, it's much better.

Sanatorium - Celebration of Exhumation (2004)

Brutal death from Slovakia, with frog-like vocals. Enjoy.

Demonoid - Riders of the Apocalypse (2004)

"Side project of Therion members who wanted to create a fresh and challenging combination of basically old death and violent thrash metal influences, but also with a drop of modern black metal."

"
The concept of this album tells about the 4 Biblical Riders of the Apocalypse:
War, Plague, Starvation & Death who are all the mightiest of the destructive
Gods. The first part of the album observes the various atrocities by mankind,
and the punishments (plagues, earthquakes, wars...) by the Gods who tried to
redeem them throughout the ages. The second part tells of the mighty evocation
of the riders by a secret religious cabal, and the Rider's final war against
mankind. The last part is where the whole of humankind is eradicated, save for
one man, who will walk the aftermath of plague, war, starvation and death -
unable to breed... destined to die as the last of his kind." -

Satan's Revenge On Mankind - Goreblast (2006)

It's an awesome goregrind album, but hard to find. Download it, if you like the genre.

Aeon - Bleeding the False (2005)

Aeon is a very good swedish death metal band. It's my favourite album by them.

Rebaelliun - Annihilation (2001)

Rebaelliun was a brazilian death metal band, and it's their last full-length album. It's an awesome brutal death release.

Human Rejection - Torture of Decimation (2007)

Brutal death metal with high pitched vocals. I like it.

Jenovavirus - Demo #1 (2006)

"Do you like BIZARRE slam? Dripping fan perhaps? Are you interested in finding something atmospheric, creepy, perhaps even a bit psychologically disturbing? You're going to wanna check out this newcomer band from Japan, with probably the coolest name ever." - Slam-Minded

Clitoridus Invaginatus - Putrid Pussy Warehouse (2008)

First album of this new, but awesome brutal death band from Italy. It's insane, it's catchy, what else do we need?

Blasphemer - On The Inexistence Of God (2008)

First album of this mind-blowing brutal death band. Everything is excellent on this release. Download it!

One of today's better brutal death bands. By better I mean they infinitely outdo every Suffo/Deeds ripoff and pseudo-technical jerkoff band in songwriting. Here's where I'd normally drop a line comparing them to Gorgasm, Brutality Is Law era SevSav or some other newer brutal death band, but they aren't really comparable to any of those. They're considerably groovier than Gorgasm and the vocals are different in a gurgling, guttural manner (if you didn't figure that out from the band's name already). The next thing would be comparing them to Suffo, but the songs aren't that elaborately built. They have the versatility to keep them interesting after multiple listens, but are rather simplistic compared to Odious Mortem, for example. This is definitely a good point though. They combine elements from slam death and brutal/tech death without overdoing either part, thus making a very enjoyable mixture as a whole.

Necrotorture - Blood Feast (2006)

Brutal death from Italy. I found this band on YouTube a long time ago. I enjoyed it very much, but i couldn't find their EP anywhere, so I gave up and forgot about it. But as soon as I found it, it quickly became one of my favourites. The vocals are just... sick. Enjoy it, like I do!

Viatrophy - Chronicles (2007)

This album is made by some dudes from UK, and i bet you can't guess what their album is called. These British dipshits should all have a slap across their face for taking my name, and another one for placing it on a decent album. And yet another one for naming the worst song on the entire album the same thing. Don't even bother making a review on this. And sorry for posting more metalcore, I'll stop it from now on.
I guess I'll also have to give you the download link to the album since some may like it, even though I bet the differ. But I'll suggest you download it anyway, so I can get my RapidPoints.

As We Fight - 2 albums

Since this is my first post, I’ll review something from my own country – Denmark.
As We Fight is a metalcore band and with their two lead singers it gives a unique form of hardcore. I couldn’t decide what album to choose, so I had to review both of them. I found them through some random searching on YouTube and when I first listened to it I wasn’t surprised at all, but the album soon had to prove me wrong. This must be one of the best metalcore bands from Denmark, if not the best, and I quickly realized after hearing both albums simultaneous, that this was different from all the other shitty metalcore that you hear nowadays. As We Fight will release yet another album which is coming in April and I’ll probably be making a review on that too. Nonetheless, I’m already aware that this post isn’t the most exciting, so I’ll stop it and let you have your opinions about the albums while I read up on stuff for my new review.

Oh, and by the way: Hai I’m Chronicles. Don’t judge me on my first post.

General Surgery - Corpus In Extremis: Analysing Necrocriticism (2009)

Arch Enemy - 3 albums

Info:
Encyclopaedia Metallum | Last.fm | Myspace

Black Earth (1996)
Quality: 192 kbps MP3 / CBR
Download: Rapidshare

Stigmata (1998)
Quality: 192 kbps MP3 / CBR
Download: Rapidshare

Burning Bridges (1999)
Quality: 192 kbps MP3 / CBR
Download: Rapidshare

Most people know Arch Enemy as 'the death metal band with a chick on vocals'. This is inherently stupid for two reasons: 1: There are lots of death metal bands with women on vocals that greatly outdo post-2000 Arch Enemy. 2: This band was better with Johan Liiva on vocals. And the reason why I'm posting the first three albums only is that those were still made with him on vocals. Not that I dislike Angela or her vocals, but the early releases are far superior to the more recent material in every aspect. Black Earth was a huge favorite of mine back when I was a raging melodic death metal fanboy, and I still say it's a solid album. It's influenced by Heartwork-era Carcass, rather than the generic modern Gothenburg scene. If you've been disappointed by the newer Arch Enemy efforts, you might still dig these. If you're a fan of the new stuff, get these quick, and learn.

Suicide Silence - (self titled) [2006?]

id_ trying to sound smart:
I figure there was enough shit flinging going on in the comments of their latest album I would toss this up just to add fuel to the flames. I've heard/read enough arguing over deathcore lately that I have to ask "what is deathcore"? Sure, direct me to some website or name some bands, but that doesn't really give me an answer. I'm talking under the same gesture that "what is existence" or "prove to me I'm alive" ... et. al, it's all relative. If a band is heavy enough to you, it can be metal as fuck, Disturbed still makes parents nervous and your school mates think your goth.
So! Fuck what ya heard.

PS, fuck the amerikan public school system (private too for that matter).

id_'s actual review: It's got cowbell. I swear.

TL;DR version: HOLY SHIT BIG COCKS IN MY EARS!

Waco Jesus - Sex Drugs & Deathmetal (2009)

When I noticed this album floating about on the intertubes, I nearly got a heart attack from the sheer magnitude of awesomeness I witnessed. I can hardly describe my admiration for this band, their album 'Receptive When Beaten' is some of the roughest, most misogynistic, hateful redneck deathgrind/groovy brutal death amalgamation ever recorded in history, and also one of my utmost favorites. These guys audially grab you by the throat and stab you in the eye while taking a shit on your sister's raped, dismembered, and burnt cadaver every time you play it, just to show you they mean business. No show-off technicality or slowing down so you could catch breath, just relentlessly punishing and straightforward. Sex Drugs & Deathmetal is not much different, although the rough sound has become slightly cleaner. There's also more emphasis on groove, but it's still the same kind of badass brutality. It's captivating as hell, you'll be headbanging as you hear the first notes, and it's very consistent. Few tracks stand out, and the ones that don't are also very catchy to begin with. As of now I've listened to it one single time, and I've already decided that I love everything about it. The music, the cover, the title, the attitude, everything. I couldn't find the lyrics but I never really care about them anyway, and I'm sure they're about some random hedonistic badassery as you might assume from the title. Fuck you, this is going to be among this year's bests.

Suicide Silence - The Cleansing (2007)

Naming your band Suicide Silence would lead the common listener to the assumption that you wear tight pants, and eyeliner despite you're male, and that your favorite style is emo. This is only partially right though. The Cleansing epitomizes the straightforward, bludgeoning approach to deathcore which doesn't really leave room for anything but breakdowns. Variety is definitely not one of it's strong points, but if you're into 'chuggz' and roundhouse kicks, you'll enjoy listening to this.

Human Mincer - Degradation Paradox (2008)

Spanish brutal death featuring two members of Wormed. This instantly makes is awesome, not that it wouldn't be good regardless. It has every characteristic of modern brutal death, without being bland or boring. All songs are fairly technical but without lacking integrity. Most of the album is extremely fast, but it also slows down every now and then for a brief, heavy breakdown. The guitars are low-tuned, and besides the occasional tremolo-picked passes we have a shitload of pinch-harmonics. Phlegeton's vocals are still as inhuman as they always were. The grunts over here don't sound as rough as they do on Planisphaerium, but you can definitely tell it's him holding the mic. Degradation Pradox is a solid album, if you want some non-wankery modern brutal death that's actually memorable, get this.

Disavowed - Perceptive Deception (2001)

Suffo worship at it's best. This could be titled Effigy Of The Forgotten part 2.

Kill The Client - Cleptocracy [2008]

Grindcore with that extra-bit of "oomph" to make your testicular fortitude mighty and swell with pride. I'd say more but you don't read this do you?
Go steal a car and drive it into a hospital.

The Bastard Noise - Rogue Astronaut (2009)

"Born from the desire of former members of influential powerviolence band Man Is The Bastard to create ground-breaking and powerful noise, The Bastard Noise have spent almost two decades and over 100 releases making haunting, disturbing and sometimes beautiful, yet cacophonic, oise. The Bastard Noise enlists the help of members of bands like The Locust, Boredoms, Honeywell and Agoraphobic Nosebleed to ensure a truly genre defying and defining sound." - release ad

This release can be described as 'noise' that's that. Tracks are a constant assault on the ears, with experimentation abroad. Minimal vocals are involved here but when they are they accompany the onslaught just right. Nothing with this release seems out of place, if your not into 10+ minute noise tracks, meh.

Black Autumn - Rivers Of Dead Leaves (2008)

A one man project from Germany that while deemed 'depressive black metal' reaches out beyond the suggested genre. Borrowing elements and influence from various genres this release sways to very mood driven sound.

Necrovore - Divus De Mortuus (1987)

Necrovore practically invented Morbid Angel's style of death metal before MA achieved any recognition. A treat for fans of classic death metal.
