Again, the time for that stupid celebration that was spread by the vile Christian religion has come. Time to spend money on more shit I don't need, and do things that are totally unnecessary and a wate of time...

Nah. But I almost got you there, didn't I?

Christmas is nothing special, just a little time you should spend with the people who really deserve it. Now get your ass up and shut down the computer. Holy fuck, some people have nothing better to do than browse the tubes at this time, same goes for New Year's Eve. Just go outside, have some fun, have a drink, whatever. That's what I'm about to do. Legion is often regarded as the quintessence of death metal by fans of Floridian death. It's quite unique to the band, since the only Deicide release similar to it is the equally groundbreaking self-titled album; but also to the genre, because of it's chaotic, unpredictable nature. It's the most technical album in the history of Deicide, arguably the best, but definitely one of the most controversial.

Some nice moody atmospheric black metal for you fine folk. All songs are ten minutes plus with enough variation and tempo changes to keep your attention. When I listen to it, it makes me want to paddle a canoe I widdled myself from a tree in my deceased fathers orchard down a fog dense old river that time has forgotten and nature has reclaimed.
I also want a bag of pretzels.

Extreme Noise Terror, once praised as a crust punk/grindcore band, then known as a death metal/grindcore band, and now again returned to the roots, are from Ipswich, England. Formed in 1985, they are one of the key early UK grindcore bands and are still together today with vocalists Dean Jones and Phil Vane as the only original members.

If ya don't know, your not going to. The album touts a 'return'.. I'm assuming to their original sound. Do they pull it off? I'm no judge, I'll let you decide.

Grand Magus (formed in 1996) is led by one Janne Christofferson, who also fronts the mighty Spiritual Beggars. While the Beggars are more in the traditional Deep Purple/Mountain camp of early rock/metal, Grand Magus opts for a bluesy, stoner-laced doom vibe, heavy on the early Black Sabbath riffing and tempos, with JB’s gruff, forceful vocals blending perfectly with the music. He was nominated 6th best international vocalist in the annual Burrn! Reader’s poll of Japan.

After leeching an abundant amount off a guy from soulseek, we got into a conversation that ended up him directing me to his solo project stuff, which I present to you.
With "releases" tracing back as far as '98 and the latest being somewhere around '02 we have a chronology of works.

How would I describe what your getting into? I'll start by throwing out some genres:
doom, ambient, minimal, industrial, instrumental, noise.
Specifically your getting into stuff that eitehr stretches in the seven plus minute mark with minimal alteration in tempo or sound, to the almost bleakly depressing ambience with a hint of doom. This is... flavored work. Prolly nothing most would chalk up as professional, but you can perhaps "feel" the intent the guy had behind this project.

You can grab one, you can grab them all. Make up your own ideas on what your hearing.
I'll get a hold of his soulseek nick or contact information for those whom are interested.

The Gods of Grind are still alive, and they're here to show us how they can still kick your face in. It's not even 2009, but I'm already sure this fucker is going to be a sure contender for next year's list of my album picks.
I'm going to go ahead and say this is the catchiest, most memorable album they've made in a long time, and that's coming from a big fan of several recent Napalm Death releases, as well as the early ones. Smear campaign was a trip back to the early years of ND, and ruined your face so badly you couldn't have enough of it. Time Waits For No Slave is different, but just as as versatile. It adds some new ideas to their lately re-acquired raw style, this is most discernible in the choruses. Several songs have choruses with weird clean-ish vocals, similar to the ones sparsely found on previous albums. I think, that in an awkward manner, they fit the music perfectly. The riffs are also worthy of mentioning, since every song is chock-full of hooks.
Napalm Death are living legends of extreme metal, and they've yet to disappoint me. I don't think they have anything left to prove, but Time Waits For No Slave further perpetuates the awesomeness.
