Gorevent - Abnormal Exaggeration (2008)

More Japanese slam death. The vocals aren't very high in the mix, this leaves more room for the guitars. Sounds better than a garage wiggerslam record but it's still raw, and the music is good too.

Aborted - Engineering The Dead (2001)

Back in the day Aborted used to play genuine, plain brutal death that sounded a lot different than the stuff they play today. They were also damn good at what they did. Engineering The Dead is an unsung album, and arguably Aborted's best. It is rawer than their later works and has a more back-to-the-basics approach, but has hints of the brutish-melodic style they've become known for. While I also admire Goremageddon and The Archaic Abattoir, Engineering The Dead is the one I mostly listen to; it's different but just as good, if not better.

Infected Malignity - The Malignity Born from Despair (2006)

Slow-as-fuck Japanese slam death.

Psycroptic - The Scepter Of The Ancients (2003)

This is the quintessence of technical death metal. As a friend of mine once said, there's about 300 riffs in a song and none of them repeat consecutively. You've probably guessed this is a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea. Psycroptic excel at showing off their technical prowess while maintaining both memorability and amusingness in every song. The instrumentals are par excellence, and the vocals show great variety. A lot of people miss Chalky, he did the vocals on this album. I enjoy both the new singer's and his style, but I can't argue with the fact that the overall performance on TSotA is impeccable. In a nutshell, this album is pure awesome, get it now.

Kraanium - Ten Acts of Sickening Perversity (2008)

I never heard of this band before this album's release, but I gave them a try just because Norway seemed like an interesting place for a slam death band to come from. It's a lot better than I expected, using the formula of being very simplistic, yet catchy. I'd like to stress the simplicity thing, because Kraanium take straightforwardness and brutish retardation to a level that makes Devourment look like Necrophagist. Ten Acts of Sickening Perversity doesn't offer much besides plain brutality, yet makes a pulverizingly good album.

Supp

I made a new header image. I hope you like it. (I used some Psycroptic artwork)

I also changed my screenname to something slightly less common and cliché. Every other faux black metal kid was already using Astaroth, so I thought I'd rip off a CoDC songtitle for a change.

You may proceed with life now.

Blood Duster - 3 reissues

Blood Duster.. Oh, Blood Duster. A band with so many side projects and affiliated acts you just loose count. Either way, its still great. The wiki and Encylo Metallum call it grindcore death metal southern mixture ... Hey hey! I still say its gore-ish-grind-puts the F-U in fun, FUN.
Looking for the non remaster?
You can get Lyden Na here * Astaroth writes better descripts than I ever could.

This would be the album where BD seemed to "abandon" their grind style and take on a more southern feel, even using a organ! It's still better than you.

All scene release quality, that's 256+VBR for those who care.

Phobia - 22 Random Acts Of Violence (2008)

I haven't listened to this yet, but this is an absolutely amazing band. I didn't even know they were about to release something new, so this album's another big surprise for me; but I'm quite sure I'm going to be satisfied with this. Phobia never disappoint if you're looking for some top-notch grindcore.

American Heritage - Millenarian (2006)

Mixing The Dillinger Escape Plan's early works with sludge is the best way I could describe American Heritage. It has lots of weird rhytm-breaks, it takes some listens to get used to, but most importantly, it's heavy as hell and kicks ass.

Tracklist:
01. Brootal: Axxes of Evil
02. Toilet Paper and Leotards
03. It's Like Fucking A Napkin Full of Toenails
04. Peckerwood

Incinerate - Anatomize (2008)

Another attempt at making an album that stands out of the myriad of new "brutal technical death metal" releases. I was afraid this was going to be just another generic album that has no highlights whatsoever, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. Anatomize is on par with Origin's Antithesis and Gortuary's debut, monopolizing at their style and eliminating the try-hards who try to surpass musical limits through extremity, yet fail to maintain integrity. A solid piece of brutal death with no compromises.
