Whitechapel - This Is Exile (2008)

I was expecting to hear another mediocre deathcore album when I downloaded the new Whitechapel, but I was in for a pleasant suprise. Not saying a change in their style has occurred, but they've noticeably improved. This Is Exile is crammed with groove-inducing palm-muted and string bending riffs, and the songs generally have a more interesting structure than a typical deathcore song. This album shows some progress towards a positive direction.

Thrash M - Demo (2008)

Thrash metal band from Poland. The band is trying to mix 80’s sound of classic thrash metal with a little note from today’s new thrash bands. Also band recorded only one demo in may 2008 in Suwalki City mini home studio. Influences...maybe Megadeth, old Metallica, Testament, Municipal Waste. The band was formed in 2007 and is active looking for label.

Gorgasm - Masticate To Dominate (2003)

Gorgasm have layed new standards for modern brutal death metal with their second full-length. In my opinion it is one of the best examples of this style today. In a nutshell, it's characterized by straight-to-the point, relentlessly brutal, fast, highly technical songs. No particular high or low points, this album's a solid effort worth taking example of.

Neuraxis - The Thin Line Between (2008)

Holy shit is this new, I can hardly comprehend the speed these yet-to-be-released albums are spreading at!

Update: This isn't as awesome as I expected it to be. Apparrently they'll never make another album like A Passage Into Forlorn - that album was literally breathtaking, it reached through the speakers to stangle the fuck out of you, and did this in such an enjoyable manner that you'd want to play it again. The Thin Line Between isn't bad - it's just lackluster compared to what they previously made. Maybe my expectations were a bit high, but this album isn't quite as good as I expected it to be.

Malevolent Creation - Retribution (1992)

This is an album from the early days of MC. I was too lazy to write a review for it myself but I've been procrastinating to post it for quite a long time - so I asked a friend to write it.
Timi says: Malevolent Creation is one of the legendary death metal bands from Flordia. Retribution is their second album , andwas published by Roadrunner in 1992. It's interesting that Rob Barrett (who plays in Cannibal Corpse nowadays) plays the guitar on this album. I don't think Retribution is the best album of the band. Each song is good but neither of them is really prominent. I can't quite say "Wow, this was a kickass song". I miss something plus, but if you like death metal you should listen to this.
Well, I partly aggree, although the album appealed for me a bit more. I think it's thoughroughly good, but you should check it out for yourself - it's one of the many gems of early Florida death metal.

Well well... looks like some fucker can't afford the golden rims for his lexus, so he decided to bugger some poor fellows trying to share music. You narrowminded cocksuckers, can't you see we're doing this for the good of everyone?! Nevermind. I'm going to remove all these posts to avoid a possible shitstorm.

To you, dear greedy assholes who think music sharing is to blame for the bad sales of your shitty albums: if you find anything that infringes your laws about exploiting musicians, shoot me an e-mail and I will remove said posts personally.

To sum up my feelings about this situation, I'd like to end this post with a quote.

It would be easier for the Devil to go to church and cross himself with holy water than for these people to comprehend the ideas which are accepted facts to us today.
/Adolf Hitler/

(yes, I would rather quote Hitler than to succumb to such greedy, narrow-minded filth)

Never give up!

Update: I've reposted the aforementioned posts on apple juice with satan, a place unrelated to blogger. If you're looking for any of these posts, you'll find them there. No need to worry, nothing is lost.

Demilich - Nespithe (1993)

Finnish death metal classic, exceptional in several aspects. Nespithe has an atmosphere and concepts that are not easy to comprehend. It was recorded about 15 years ago, yet the songwriting is astounding even for today's standards. The riffs grab the listeners attention or might even make you chuckle, yet they're awkwardly captivating. The vocals are also a peculiar aspect of the music, being extremely deep and guttural. Considering that there aren't any special effects on them, this is quite interesting, especially for the time the album was made. It's also remarkable that the whole album is available for download from their website. You can get all their artwork and songs (even in lossless quality!) absolutely free, so there's no excuse not to check this out.

Haunted Shores - Maelstrom (2007)

"Washington DC thrashers HAUNTED SHORES are set to record a new album in early July, joining forces once again with Chris Dowhan at Planet Red Studios in Richmond, VA, who recorded and mixed their debut EP "Maelstrom" in January of '07. Though little can be said about this unsigned quartet's second studio effort, bassist Jeff Holcomb had this to say about the diligence of their labor: "We've literally put our lives on hold these past few months to write the new material. Shows, work, food, friends, and family have all taken a back seat to this album."

Sculptured - Apollo Ends (2000)

Age-old post by Abomination, now reposted by yours truly.

On “Apollo Ends,” SCULPTURED return with an almost entirely new line-up. Core members Don Anderson and Brian Yager remains, but the new folks include none other than Anderson’s brothers in AGALLOCH, John Haughm and JWW. Given such a line-up, you might expect this release to sound a lot like, well, AGALLOCH, but in the end, aside from the overall quality and adventurousness of the music, it would be hard to tell that the bands had anything in common.

The Rotted - Get Dead Or Die Trying (2008)

It recently happened that the mighty Gorerotted changed name to The Rotted. I wasn't sure if this was a good or bad thing, but I decided that I shouldn't really give a fuck if their new music keeps kicking ass like the old did. The new song on myspace sounded promising and the surprisingly early leak of the entire album really filled me with curiosity. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed. The departure of Mr. Gore leaves the band with one lead vocalist - Goreskin, who does the deep grunts. The band's music has somewhat changed, there's less vocal variety, and they've cut back on blasting quite a bit. The riffs are bordering on death'n'roll at times, and the album maintains a horror-movie atmosphere. There's two instrumental songs that show the band's ability to create slower songs with a brooding atmosphere. Altogether, the album is a satisfying effort. A bit different, yet still damn good Gorerotted.

Sexcrement - Genitales From The Porno Potty (2007)

Noktorn says: Sexcrement plays pure death metal that's totally, totally focused on groove. It's not slam death or stereotypical brutal death, it's just straightforward death metal with groove riff after amazing groove riff. The structures of the songs are all essentially the same, using fast, somewhat technical tremolo riffs to build tension that gets released by AMAZING oldschool DM grooves. A sloppy, disgusting high/low dual vocal attack just adds to the perfection, slathered all over the great music like so much repulsive icing. The production's incredibly clear and heavy, drums are played perfectly, what else is there to ask for?
I decided to quote this guy because I really couldn't say it better myself. Some damn good midtempo death metal with shitloads of groove.

Oblige - Expectants (2007)

Since I wanted to do something with the recent lack of updates, yet had no idea what to post, I decided to upload a random album I found on my hard drive. Oblige play a modern style of extreme metal, I'd say it's deathcore fused with groove metal. A little death, a shitload of palm-muted chug chug riffage, some damn good grooves and a big dose of hardcore - and I don't know how I could forget Meshuggah. Albeit not being outright original, it's very memorable and an enjoyable album.
